Rhizopus has thread-like hyphae on which tiny ‘blob-on-a-stick’ structures known as sporangia are developed. Sporangia contain spores that are involved in reproduction. The spores are covered by thick walls that protect them against drying up. When the spores come in contact with another moist surface they eventually germinate into new individuals.
