what does the Taj Mahal tell us about the strengths of the mughal empire
Answers
The Taj Mahal tells us a lot about the Mughal Empire.
Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth to Shah Jahan's 14th child. The way Shah Jahan created the Taj Mahal is very fascinating. This is because the Taj Mahal has 4 pillars on the sides of the base, as you can see from the picture above . These 4 pillars are not vertically up straight, instead, they have been slanted away from the Taj Mahal itself. Many say this is because, if there was ever an earthquake to happen, then the pillars would fall on the ground rather than collapsing on the Taj Mahal. This may not seem but this was quite intelligent. As it proves that the Mughal Empire were aware of earthquakes. In addition to this, the Taj Mahal has many illusions, this confuses many people who visit the Taj Mahal. You see before reaching the base of the Taj Mahal, you have to pass the orange coloured building, then walk through the long gardens. When a visitor is at the start of the orange building, the visitor will think that the Taj Mahal is closer (then it is), but as the visitor goes in the orange building, the Taj Mahal seems to have moved further away . This is because the Taj Mahal's actual doorway and the orange buildings doorway it symmetrical and the same, so they are the same in shape and size.
