what effect will be caused to the animals on the earth if there are nogreenhouse gases and why?

If there was no greenhouse gases, the uv rays of sun wont be traped and thus no heat will be traped in earth's atmosphere. As a result the temperature of earth will be extremely cold or extremely hot like that of other planets. All the animals will die as there is a certain temperature range where life can exist.
