• He was born on 29 August 1905 and died on 3 December 1979.
• Major Dhyan Chand Singh is known as father of Indian hockey, India's Hockey Wizard or The Magician of Hockey.
• He won 3 Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936.
• Also india won 7 olympics in field hockey under his service.
• He has scored more than 1000 goals in his career.
