Myopic eye

• In this defect a person can see nearby objects clearly but cannot see distant objects clearly.In this case image forms before the retina.In a myopic eye, the image of distant object is formed in front of the retina and not at the retina itself.This defect may arise due to

1. Excessive curvature of eye lens
2. Elongation of eyeballs.

• This defect can be corrected by using a concave lens of suitable power.A concave lens of suitable power will bring back image on the retina and thus the defect is corrected.
