what force is required to stretch a still wire ,1 cm2 in cross section ,to increase its length by one percent .given Young's modulus for steel is 2*10^11 n/ m2 ?

Length is increased by 1%
It means e/L = 1/100

Area (A) = 1 cm² = 10⁻⁴ m²

Now use Y = FL / Ae

F = YAe/L

Substitute the values. On solving we get force as 2 × 10⁵ N
