The Indian Subcontinent,is a southern region and peninsula of Asia,mostly situated on the Indian Plate and projecting southwards into the Indian Ocean from the Himalayas.
It is the Peninsular region in the south-central Asia delineated by the Himalayas in the North,the Hindu Kush in the west and the Arakenese in the east.
The Indian Subcontinent includes Bangladesh,Bhutan,India,Maldives,Nepal,Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Natural frontiers of the subcontinent:
The Indian subcontinent is a peninsular region which is covered by water on the three sides of it. The northern side India is blessed to have the huge and the mighty Himalayan range which protects the country from the cold of Siberia.
India is covered with the 'Arabian sea' on the western side of it while on the eastern side the ocean that is present there is called the 'Bay of Bengal'.
