What gives a gram positive cell wall a negative charge?

Actually the presence of teichoic acids rapported to either the peptidoglycan or to the plasma membrane lying underneath gives the gram positive bacteria's cell wall a negative charge because the basic element present in the structure of teichoic acid is phosphorus is anionic polymer means negatively charged.
