in this rxn large amount of heat evolved it is a exothermic reaction calcium quickline change into slaked lime which is a very vigorously in nature used for white wash

when quick lime is added to water it changes to slaked lime,
heat is released which shows it's an exothermic reaction
CaO +H2O=Ca(OH)2 + heat
