The average depth of the world’s oceans is 12,000 feet. If we were to double the current volume of the oceans one might expect sea-level to rise by 12,000 feet, but that’s not correct. The depth profile of the seafloor below present day sea-level, and the height profile of the terrain above present day sea-level are not the same. But… sea-level would certainly rise by thousands of feet. Assuming no associated climate disaster, those of us that survived would be living on mountain tops.
