during the change of state of matter particles just re-arrange them self like  in case of ice  particles are tightly packed and in case of liquid water the particles are loosely  packed
making water an liquid and in gases particles are far apart.

the particles of matter move like zig-zig motion in gas or liquid but in solid particle does'not move
