the acetic acid is acidic in nature, and the litmus paper turns red to indicate its acidic nature. (ii) When Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃) is added to the test tube containing acetic acid, a reaction will occur which results in the evolution of gas in the form of bubbles.
