When is cell is placed in hypotonic solution the water inter the cell and fell the central vacoule..

When a plant cell is placed in a hypertonic solution the water inside the cell moves out into the solution ..

I. e.,from a higher potential (inside the cell) to lower potential (external solution).so the cell membrane moves away form the cell wall as the contents move out.... This process is also called as plasmolysis
