so there are many theories by historians

  • one of the theories is that probably Indus Valley suffered from earthquakes, floods or other epidemics.

  • another theory includes that Indus Valley was invaded by the Aryans which may have led to it's destruction.

  • the third theory suggests the change of course of the Indus River may have made the land infertile. Thus the people abandoned their sites in search of other places.
