Tansen knew that if he sang rag deepak - the raag of the fire , the heat it gives out will not only set the lamps alight but also burn him to ashes. Then he had an idea . He taught his daughter the megha malhar - the raag of rain to his daughter. if it was sung properly the raag could bring rain through which the burning tansen could be set out of fire while singing.t hen the next day as he thought , he sang the raag . and suddenly all the people present there felt very hot and suddenly tansen started burning . In order to extinguish the fire his daughter started singing megha malhar. then all of a sudden it started raining . But it could not save the great musician

and he burned to ashes
