Answer:

Water supply will be restored by 50% by midnight on Sunday (Sept 6), says Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.

He said that stricter action would be taken by enforcement authorities to ensure such an incident does not happen again in the future.

Amirudin also said that a proposal to raise the RM50,000 fine to RM1mil for water polluters under the Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (Luas) Enactment 1999 is also in discussions.

He said this in a statement after chairing a meeting with Luas, Selangor Department of Environment, the police, Selayang City Council (MPS) and Gombak Land and District Office.

The MB received a full report on the situation of a major disruption which caused more than one million households to suffer dry taps in seven districts in the Klang Valley.
