when water flows into the guard cells from the neighbouring epidermal cells they swell i.e. become turgid and becone curved and cause the opening of stomatal pore . ... since large amount of water can also be lost through stomata the plant closes these pores when it does not need carbon dioxide for photosynthesis.

When the guard cell is filled with water and it becomes turgid, the outer wall balloons drawing the inner wall with it and causing the stomata to enlarge.
similarly, when guard cell release water it come to it's original shape, the outer wall balloons pushing the inner wall with it and causing the stomata to close.
