If this happens then only the side of the earth facing towardstowards sun will receive sunlight , the other part will remain dark. Since it will only revolve not rotate then it will result in only one type of season and temperature which will not be good for earth's atmosphere but since its impossible then there is nothing to tense about it.

Answer:

Then there will be on day on one half and night on the other half the entire year.

Additional Information:

This is scientifically possible but cannot be proved . (As it has never stopped rotating)

There will be no change in seasons cause if there is no rotations then there will be no wind movement.

And if there is no wind movement the will be a constant temperature and there will be no rains.

A lot of electricity will be used when there is no daylight which will tend to finish natural resources.

There will be severe droughts in the while world.

Finally due to drought , the seas and oceans will be used rapidly and dried quickly and everyone will soon die at the end of the year.
