Explanation:

10thI myself am studying in Std. 10th. I have taken Entire Sanskrit (80 marks), in Maharashtra State Board. I would suggest you too, to take the same. Reasons as follows:

• Entire Sanskrit papers are way easier than Composite or Entire Hindi papers. Taking Entire Sanskrit will lessen your Hindi subject and save time. Still if you find it hard, you may go for Composite Sanskrit - Hindi (40 marks Sanskrit + 40 marks Hindi).

• Sanskrit easily relates with most of Indian languages, and I myself have experienced this. Many of the Hindi, Marathi words are either the same as or a slightly modified from Sanskrit words. Thus, studying and grasping the meaning becomes easier.

• Sanskrit is best for clear pronunciation as well as vocabulary even for speaking other Indian languages.

• Sanskrit does not have lengthy essays, letters, or other writing skills which are there in Hindi. Just a 5–7 lined essay on pre-decided, prepared 6 topics, out of which any 3 are asked , and out of 3 only 1 is to be written) or 5–7 lined चित्रवर्णनम् (Describing the picture with given word list, again asked on pre-decided prepared topics) are there.

• Learning all the noun, pronoun and verb tables from 8th, 9th and 10th Std, all the specific विभक्तिs for specific धातु and अव्यय to make their sentences, all the specific सुभाषितs which are asked to complete and studying all grammar concepts, सन्धि and समास rules, types of समास, लकार (tenses)thoroughly as well as reading the whole textbook thoroughly will bring full marks.

• Understand the theme of every lesson and you'll be able to answer a question in English that is asked in exam.

Thus, opting for Sanskrit is always better than Hindi. After all, it's our heritage! The mother of all Indian languages!
