If the nature doesn't support inter conversion of matter, then many natural phenomena won't happen like water cycle, if water cycle won't happen then there wont be any rains. There will be no snow, melting of glaciers, minerals which we are easily able to use especially metals will be of very limited use if there will be no inter conversion of matter.

Inter-conversion of matter means three states of matter can be interchanged with to each other with the help of pressure and temperature. Now if it is ceased by nature these conversions are also ceased. Like Liquid form of water could not be converted to solid form i.e freezing will not happen. Freezed form of water could not be melted. Like glaciers will not melt. Rain water will not preicipitate i.e evaporation would be ceased.
