Skin is basically the largest organ and it plays a major role in detecting sensory stimuli. It is full of sensory receptors that detect heat, cold, pain, and pressure stimulus. If in any case skin loses its sensory nature, then we won't be able to feel any pain, heat, cold or pressure exerted on us.
