What happens if we coat the under surface of a green leaf with vaseline?

there are two types of leaves the monocots one which are isobilateral and dicot ones .

if we apply vaseline on the under surface of dicot leaves the stomata wont be able to exchange gases . Therefore stopping the process related to it and hence dying.

While in monocots one ,as they have stomata on both the surface of leaf , even if we apply the coat of vaseline there will be the upper surface stomata which will be still funtional.
