What happens if you put a freshwater fish in saltwater?

The fresh water being hypertonic in nature and the salt water being hypertonic in nature the water present inside the fish will come out by the process of exosmosis so the fish will die

The fish will die as saltwater contains more salt than water i.e it is a hypertonic solution.So it will extract water from the fish
