Chandra Grahan is caused when the earth comes in between moon and the sun. We do know that moon does not have a light of its own and it just reflects the light rays of the sun. Under a typical kind of alignment of the sun, moon and the earth on a full moon day, the earth hinders the sun’s rays falling on the moon and a shadow is caused on the moon. Thus, what we call as Chandra Grahan is the shadow of the earth on the moon.

Hey

The term " chandra grahan " is also known as " Lunar eclipse " .

It basically take place because the earth comes between the sun and the moon which civers moon completely and as moon ( non luminous ) gets covered and also the entire shadow of earth gets formed on the moon . So for sometimes , moon disappears .

thanks :)
