As we know that : Are of a square = (side)²
Given that : The side of square is increased by 2 times.
According to the question :
Area of new square = (2a)² = 4a²
=> Area of new square = 4×Area of square
It means when the side of square is increased by 2 times then it's area will be 4 times.
