What happens to an animal cell if we placed in a very dilute external medium. Why?

Here the animal cell is kept in dilute external medium that means hypotonicsolution. Hypotonic solution: In thissolution the solute concentration is lower than that of the cell fluid concentration. As a result, water moves into the cell from the surrounding medium through a cellmembrane.

Endosmosis . as the external solution is very dilute or hypotony water passed into animal sel due to endosmosis the animal cell continuous to swell up for some time but ultimately bursts up

Reason . Bursting of animal cell with endosmosisis due to absence of rigid cell well as found in plant cell.
