what happens to dry raisins when they are kept in water? why does this happen?

Hi friend, When dried raisins are kept in water, then they swell up by absorbing water. This happens due to endosmosis from the cells. Water moves inside the raisins due to osmosis as concentration of solutes is higher inside the raisins.
