what happens to extra glucose or carbohydrate in an animal body?

Extra glucose in the body is converted into glycogen(a complex carbohydratelike starch)and stored in the liver(a small amount is stored in the muscles as well). This glycogen is converted toglucose when blood glucose level falls.
