Let the side of square be a,
area of square = a²
A/Q, if its side get halved, then a/2
so area of this square will be (a/2)²
or, a²/4.
so required answer is :
if the side of square is halved then area will reduce to 4 times or it will be 1/4th

let the side of square be x
=) it's area = x^2
new side = x/2
=) new area = x^2 /4
it's area will be 1/4 th of original area.
change in area = x^2 - x^2/4 = 3x^2 /4
so if side of square becomes half then area change becomes (3/4)th .
% change in area = 3/4 ×100 = 75%
