What happens to the pupil of the eye when the light is very bright?

When light is passed, the Iris of the eye contracts. As a result, the pupil of the eye shrinks.

But at night, the pupil expands due to the relaxation of the Iris.

When the light entering the eye is very bright the eye makes pupil to contract as less light enters the eye.....
