When copper vessel is exposed in moist chemical reaction takes place and copper turns it's colour to green and form it's carbonate and hydroxide .This process of reaction called corison .

moist/pitting corrosion takes place in which

there will be formation of anode and cathode takes place in which

the part where oxygen is more oxidation takes place and are called anodic part.

the part where oxygen is less there reduction takes place and are called cathodic part .
