When a current carrying wire is kept in magnetic field, it experiences a force....
If I is current flowing, L is length of conductor and B is Magnetic Field.
Then, Force = I (L x B)
{ x denotes cross product}
Or
Here alpha is angle between Magnetic Field and Conductor.....
Hope this helps

The direction of force on a current crrying conductor placed in a magnetic field is obtained by Fleming's left hand rule. ... Thus, if a current carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it experiences the Lorentz force (unless the angle between the flow of current and magnetc lines is 0°).
Hope it helps....
