Daniel acid or base is added to water an exothermic reaction takes place which produces lot of heat. We should always add acid or base to water and not water to the acid because if water is added to a concentrated acid then the heat generated may cause the mixture to Splash out and cause once also the glass container may also break due to excessive local heating.
