when iron nail is put inside copper sulphate solution iron being more reactive than copper displaces copper from CuSO4 solution
REACTION: CuSo4+Fe ---> FeSO4+Cu
OBSERVATION:The copper displaced by iron in the reaction is visible as a pink-brown precipitate that usually forms on the unreacted mass of solid iron left over.
