When bleaching powder is kept open in the air,both the physical and the chemical changes take place;

Physical change:

Bleaching powder has a natural tendency of absorbing water.When we keep it in the open air,it absorbs the atmospheric moisture and becomes watery.

Chemical change:

By reacting with the atmospheric oxygen bleaching powder produces calcium carbonate and chlorine gas.
