On heating borax first looses water molecules and turns into a transparent liquid like material which transform into glass like material known as borax bead. Boric acid is slightly soluble in cold water and is readily soluble soluble in hot water. When Co is heated with zno it reduces zno to zn and finally it forms zn and co2
