What happens when calcium carbonate is made to react with hydrochloric acid? Give the equation of the reaction also...

CaCo3+HCl ------------> CaCl2+ H2O +Co2

CalciumCarbonate = CaCO3
Hydrochloric acid = HCl

Therefore, the reaction will be..
CaCO3 + 2HCl ---> CaCl2 + 2H2O + CO2

CalciumCarbonate + Hydrochloric acid ---> Calciumchloride + water + carbon dioxide
