What happens when citric acid reacts with potassium permanganate?

Citric acid turns potassium permanganate from purple to colorless because it is reducing agent. KMno4 willl oxidise citric acid to Co2 and H2O and itself will turn into almost colorless Mn(+2) or into brown Mn02 precipitate..
