Copper sulfate. Water is driven off from hydrated copper sulfate when it is heated, so the forward reaction is endothermic - energy must be transferred from the surroundings for it to happen. ... When water is added to anhydrous copper sulfate, enough heat is released to make the water bubble and boil.

When copper sulphate is heated then it's loses it's water of crystallisation to form white anhydrous copper sulphate.


CuSO4. 5 H2O ==>Heat==> CuSO4 + 5H2O

Means,

Copper
sulphate ==> White anhydrous ==>water
