HEYY THERE!

Do you know the reactivity series of metals?

It is:

K
Na
Ca
Mg
Al
Zn
Fe
Ni
Sn
Pb
H
Cu
Hg
Ag
Au
Pt

Now, there is a rule that only the metals above hydrogen (H) in the reactivity series, produce hydrogen gas when they react with dilute acids. Metals under Hydrogen, like Copper, Mercury, Silver, Gold and Platinum are not so reactive, so they do not produce hydrogen gas when reacting with dilute acids.

Thus,

Cu + H₂SO₄ ------> NO REACTION

If it was concentrated sulphuric acid, then sulphur dioxide gas would have been produced.

TESTED IN LABORATORY!
