Heya !!!!
when the dried grapes are kept in pure water ,it becomes swollen like fresh grapes by the process of ENDOSMOSIS.... It absorbs water and gets swollen...
when again the same grapes are kept in sugar solution, they loss water by the process EXOSMOSIS.. .It loses water and become wrinkled....
This is the fate of dried grapes when they are kept in pure water then transferred to sugar solution...
hope this helps you :)

Hi there !!
When dried grapes are kept in pure water , which is a dilute solution where the water concentration is more, the water will move into the dried grapes, a place where the water concentration is considerably low. The transfer of water will take place from higher concentration to lower concentration , and thus, Osmosis will take place. As the concentration of water is high outside , the water will act as a hypotonic solution and hence the dried grapes will SWELL.
When these water filled grapes are kept in sugar solution , which has lower water concentration, the water filled grapes will have high water concentration and so water will move from the grapes to the outer environment and the sugar water will act as a hypertonic solution. As a result , the cell will SHRINK in size.
