In animals like chicken

the egg is known as an unfertilised and can be consumed

In humans

the egg is degenerated and the lining of the uterus is shed off and this further causes blood to come out of the female body. This is known as menstruation

In animals such as frog

the egg degerates or it can also be consumed by the other organisams present in the water body

1. the uterus prepare itself every month to receive fertilized egg.

2. the linning of the uterus becomes thick and spongy ,required to support the embro.

3. when fertilization had not taken place ,this linning ins not needed any longer .

4.this lining breaks and comes out through vagina as blood and mucus .This cycle takes around 28 days every month and called menstruation.
