in females (women),the uterus prepares itself to recieve an ova every month.ie:-the inner lining of the uterus becomes thich and soft with lots of blood capilaries.if the ova get fused with sperm in these days or the ova is fertilized,then ova is embedded on the inner walls of the uterus to have proper nourishment.If the egg is not fused with sperm or not fertilised,then there no need for the lining.So,it slowly breaks and comes out alongwith its blood vessels through vagina in the form of vaginal bleeding.
