what happens when electricity is passed through acidified water?

Electrolysis takes place and H+ ions move to anode and are discharged as H2 gas....O-- ions move to cathode and are discharged as O2 gas

Pure water can't conduct electricity through it.But the acidic water can easily conduct the electricity.This process is known as the electrolysis of the water.

In this electrolysis process,the water molecules are seperated into the hydrogen gas and the oxygen gas.

In simple words this is a water decomposition process with the help of the electricity.
