When electricity is passed through an acid solution, some reaction is happened in cathode And anode respectively

When electric current is passed through acidified solution, it decomposes to give hydrogen at cathode and oxygen at anode.

The reaction of cathode and anode are

At Cathode: H+ + e- ——›[H]

2 [H] -—› H2

At Anode: OH- – e- ——› [OH]

4[OH] –—› 2H20 + 02
