Clearly, elimination of water molecule takes place to give ethene.Elimination does not take place via E1 mechanism as primary carbocation is unstable.Hence E2 mechanism operates here.
In the first stage, one of the lone pairs of electrons on the oxygen picks up a hydrogen ion from the sulphuric acid. The alcohol is said to be protonated.
Next, the removal of water molecule takes place in a concerted manner to give ethene.

OEthanol is dehydrated and it forms ethene gas. sulphuric acid acts only as a catalyst. the water produced from the reaction gets mixed with sulphuric acid and it gets diluted.
C2H6OH ----------------------- > C2 H4 + H2 O
excess of H2SO4 & high temperature 443K
Hope so it will help you
