What happens when few drops of dil. HCl is put on one cloth strip(chopped onions)?

it depends if due to dilution the ph value of hcl increases to more than 7 so it will have property of bases and whem reacted with onion (acid) would form salt and water. and if diluted acid have ph value more than 7 it would shpw properties of acid and onion(acid) reacts with hcl(acid) it would not show any reaction (according to me )
