What happens when hydrogen gas is passed over hot copper oxides

If the copper oxide is hot enough, the hydrogen gas will react with it, removing the oxygen as water vapor, leaving pure copper behind.When hydrogen gas is passed over copper oxide, copper oxide is reduced to copper and hydrogen gets oxidized to H2O.
