What happens when magnesium is burnt in air? nature of oxide formed and write the word reaction?

when magnesium is burnt in the air ... it will burnt with a white dazzling flame .. and produces white ash. reaction is written below

Mg + O^2 -> MgO. magnesium reacts vid oxygen , it will make magnesium oxide( MgO)

Magnesium = Mg

Oxygen = O₂

When Magnesium burn in air with dazzling flame , it forms a white powder of magnesium oxide.

2Mg+ O₂ -----> 2MgO

Magnesium oxide is basic in nature .
