when more than one force works on an object in opposite direction, then force applied on other side will determine whether the object will move in positive direction or in negative direction or remains at rest due to net force applied on object .

if magnitude of force applied on other side is greater than many forces applied in opposite direction then object will move along the direction of greater force that is with greater force
